Project Description
The objective of our light dimmer was to control the dimming of two 40W lightbulbs based on the level of light in a room.  The novelties of our design include the use of an Insulated Gate Bi-Polar Transistor (IGBT) which is an efficient solution compared to current light dimming controllers. The IGBT solution is cheaper, introduces less harmonics into the sytem, and eliminates humming of the filament.
