OpenFrameworks Install Guide

The openFrameworks download can be found here http://www.openframeworks.cc/download


There were no detailed guides on how to setup openFrameworks so we wrote our own guide.

NOTE: This guide is for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

To setup this library, first download the source code for your appropriate compiler here (in our case, the visual studio 2010 FAT link as shown below).

 

 

 

Unzip the file and extract the contents to a folder or location of your choosing (I used “C:\Users\Mark\Documents\Miami Classes\ECE 387\paintballGun\openFrameworks” as my location). 

 

 

Now open (or create) the project you wish to implement PC to Arduino serial communication. 

Once your project has loaded, go to Project -> “Project Name” Properties -> Configuration Properties -> C/C++ -> General. 

 

 

Add the following includes to “Additional Include Directories” and then click OK:

 

   

 

Now go to Project -> “Project Name” Properties -> Configuration Properties -> Linker -> General

 

 

Add the following to “Additional Library Directories” then click OK:

 

 

Next go to Project -> “Project Name” Properties -> Configuration Properties -> Linker -> Input

 

 

Add the following to "Additional Dependencies" and then click OK:

Lastly, add the following to "Ignore Specific Default Libraries" and then click OK:

 

atlthunk.lib

LIBC.lib

LIBCMT

 

Now you're ready to use the openFrameworks library!
