Mike Paige comments and issues
Additional comments/issues I encountered:
- The temperature sensor chip measures chip temperature, not ambient temperature. This creates a significant loss of accuracy in measuring actual room temperature, as chip temperature tends to fluctuate.
- The cutoff temperature for "Auto" mode in the current build is hard-coded into the system. In the future, if I were to continue working on this project, I would add the ability to program your own desired cutoff temperature for fan activation.
- Do not attempt to power the fan directly from the Arduino's output pins. The Arduino does not create the required current to drive the fan properly. Use a solid-state relay and dedicated DC power supply instead. (See "Components" for additional information.)
