Felice Marcus

I’m Felice Marcus and I direct Miami University’s new American Culture and English Program. Thank you for visiting my professional website.

During my time at Miami, I’ve coordinated the China Business Program and the ESL-composition Program, both of which grew significantly under my leadership. I enjoy collaborating with faculty across campus on all aspects of supporting and teaching international students, and have run successful professional development seminars at Miami and elsewhere on teaching international students.

I’m excited to recently have launched Chinese for Children at the Oxford Community Arts Center. Together with undergraduates from China and Miami’s Confucius Institute, we’re creating bridges connecting campus and community.

My earlier career was spent in the information technology field as a computer programmer and IT manager, both at Miami and in industry.

I hold two Master’s degrees – one in Chinese from the University of Massachusetts and in one Systems Analysis from Miami University. My undergraduate degree is in Anthropology, from Swarthmore College, where I discovered my love for exploring cultures. In addition to extensive ESL experience in the US, I lived and taught English in Bogota, Colombia, and in Taiwan for a total of seven years.
